Jess Langer, BBA, RYT 200

Dreamer, Guide, Student of Life

Hi there! I’m Jess, and my pronouns are She/They. I live in Duluth, Minnesota on the traditional, ancestral, & contemporary lands of Ojibwe, Dakota, Northern Cheyenne, & other Native peoples on the edge of Lake Superior, Gichi-gami.

The relationships I share have shaped my being, so it’s important to contextualize my position in the world through them. I am a daughter, sister, niece, auntie, dog mom, romantic partner to one, friend to many, business owner, and community member. My relationships with the water, rocks, flora, fauna, and fungi also shape who I am and how I show up and I have infinite gratitude for the wisdom they share with us.

My offerings are centered around unearthing and decomposing internalized systems of oppression and the thoughts, beliefs, and values that have sprouted from their poisoned soil within our inner landscapes. I seek to restore the soil and plant new seeds and ways of being in service of collective healing.

Education / Experience

When deciding to work with a practitioner of care or healing, we want to know that we will be held with safe enough containment and in integrity. Important aspects to consider are the training, experience, philosophies, and lineages of the practitioner. While it can also be useful to know what degrees, certificates, and/or licenses a practitioner of care or healing may hold, I invite us to explore what other ways of knowing or gathering knowledge we can hold as valid, real, and trustworthy.*

philosophy of Healing

What can healing look/feel like?

  • Growing capacity to:

    • Be embodied with a flexible nervous system while living in a society that thrives off of and perpetuates our dissociation, disembodiment and dysregulation.

    • Be compassionately curious about thoughts, emotions, sensations, and reactions.

    • Stay present with pain, discomfort, or anxiety.

    • Experience all that life has to offer: joy, awe, playfulness, pleasure, intimacy, connection, as well as grief, horror, seriousness, rage, separation, and disconnection.

    • Communicate in a more direct, authentic, and heart-centered way.

    • Hold nuance in the body (dismantling black and white/binary thinking and leaning into multiple points of view/experiences).

    • Take accountability for reactivity and step into responsibility.

    • Repair and reconnect after ruptures.

  • Getting curious about the discomfort, pain, and symptoms as threads to follow, patterns of holding to release, shadows to illuminate, and parts of ourself to compassionately be with rather than things to suppress, numb, or merely suffer through.

  • Remembering the interconnectedness and sacredness of life.

  • Experiencing the world as an animate, living being.

  • Connecting with and remembering our Ancestors, lineage, and ways of knowing and being in relationship with the animate world around us in a ritualistic and ceremonial way.

  • Considering that somatic (body-based) and imaginal (dreams, art, imagination) ways of knowing are valid and rich avenues to explore for soul-based living.

Web tending is the process of following our individual threads to weave collective healing. It is rooted in the belief that our well-being is interconnected and interdependent on the health of our individual, collective, and planetary wellness.
